Fuzhou, China

Fuzhou, also known as the City of Banyans, has many parks and forests nearby for visitors interested in strolling among the fig trees. The ancient city has several sites of historical interest, such as West Lake, an artificial lake created in 282 AD, and Hualin Temple, the oldest surviving wooden building in south China. Tourists in the city may stop to take in some traditional Min opera, or purchase the crafts for which Fuzhou is renowned, particularly its famed bodiless lacquer ware.
